Early Life and Rise to Fame

Born in Compostela, Cebu, Rondina’s initial interest in sports was track and field. However, her life took a turn when she discovered volleyball in grade three and instantly fell in love with the sport.

Rondina’s natural talent and hard work earned her a spot representing Central Visayas in the prestigious Palarong Pambansa, where her stellar performances caught the eye of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) recruiters.

She went on to lead the UST Golden Tigresses as team captain, and her dominance in beach volleyball earned her four consecutive UAAP Beach Volleyball MVP titles.

Professional Career and Accolades

After her successful collegiate stint, Rondina seamlessly transitioned to professional volleyball. She played for various teams in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL), including the Petron Blaze Spikers, where she won multiple championships.

Her exceptional beach volleyball skills led her to represent the Philippines in international competitions, including the Southeast Asian Games.

Rondina’s list of accolades is extensive, and she is notably the first-ever Filipina to win a gold medal in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games beach volleyball tournament.

Cherry Ann “Sisi” Rondina currently plays for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). Her leadership and dynamic style of play continue to propel her team to success.
